This article discusses these economies as a region, but we acknowledge that Europe comprises independent countries, often with very different economic profiles. Moreover, these countries have a number of neighbours to the east, including Ukraine, that are part of the European continent and may in the future forge closer economic ties with the group of 30 countries analyzed in this research.
